ABOUT CDRI

Chemical Diversity Research Institute develops research projects in combinatorial chemistry for discovery and optimization of novel biologically active compounds. CDRI also provides consulting and research services in fine organic synthesis and high-throughput bioscreening.

  • Solid- and liquid-phase combinatorial synthesis
  • Wide range of feasible synthetic transformations
  • First-class analytical equipment
  • The world largest library of compounds for bioscreening
  • Collection of reagents for combinatorial synthesis
  • Unique proprietary software system for management of chemical information

CDRI's screening facility is equipped with Beckman-Coulter Biomek FX Automated Assay Workstation, which integrates CO2 incubator for maintaining cell cultures during experiments, Beckman-Coulter multimode reader DTX 880 for reading fluorescent, luminescent, and optical density readouts from 96-well and 384-well plates, and a plate hotel provide plates and liquid handling tips to the workstation. Besides with this HTS system, lab employs Molecular Devices Spectramax Plus 384 absorbance plate reader for assays involving changes in spectral properties of the compounds.

A broad range of assays for various drug targets including kinases, phosphatases, G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR), and ion channels as well as a panel of early ADME-Tox profiling is now being developed and Chemdiv's novel libraries are being tested and characterized for their suitability as lead and drug candidates.

CDRI's technology platform is built for industrial scale fine synthesis of therapeutically relevant molecules, both individual compounds and large discovery libraries. Our chemistry is manufactured and purified in highly parallel, high-throughput fashion with implementation of the most efficient methods of combinatorial synthesis.

CDRI's laboratories are equipped with standard and advanced instrumentation for compound/library synthesis, purification and analysis to meet GLP standards. In addition to standard hardware, several proprietary applications for high-throughput synthesis were developed in-house. For the final purification, we use a variety of equipment, such as automated Prep HPLC stations, Prep TLC (Analtech), and proprietary flash-chromatography columns.

CDRI employs various preparative-scale chromatographs, such as Varian's PrepStar and Shimadzu LC, equipped with either Varian's Dynamax RamPack (for high pressure) or CDRI's own Dynamic Axial Compression (for medium pressure) columns. The purity and structure of a chemical compound is assessed by HPLC (Shimadzu), NMR spectroscopy (Varian) and LC-MSchromatography-mass spectrometry (Applied Bio-systems' API 150EX single-quadruple mass -spectrometer, equipped with the Shimadzu 10A VP liquid chromatography system, and Gilson 215 auto sampler.

CDRI's equipment also includes an automated microwave synthesizer (EmrysOptimizer); CombiSynTM multiwell reactor and proprietary cheminformatics software - ChemoSoftTM, to manage design, synthesis and handling of large scale compounds libraries and computer-assisted lead discovery. State-of-the-art laboratory facilities contribute to high scientific output and guarantee the best quality of compounds produced by CDRI.
